New Check To See If Truly Your Data Is Being Zapped By Any Of The GSM Network Providers By Michaelsample2
Actually it is true that some data plans on some of these 4 GSM network providers in the country do zap data on the course of using them, and the most notable of all are Airtel BIS unlimited data plans.
And even as we write this, all Airtel BIS unlimited data plans still zap data regardless of the device you use them.
But here are other things we will like you to understand; some people also do cry foul that MTN, Etisalat and Glo network do zap their data especially when they are using the data subscriptions on their PCs.
But you and I know that MTN and Etisalat especially have no records of data zapping, even Glo does not zap data.

Though at some few points when http://michaelsample2.blogspot.com/2016/02/sad-glo-increases-monthly-blackberry.html" target="_blank">Glo recently increased their monthly BIS plan rate to N1,400 and N1,500 respectively, the N1,400 plan started zapping data.
Aside from these few exceptions, no any other data plans from those networks zap data, and the Airtel that people do accuse all the time even have other data plans that do not zap, for example, Airtel normal data plans and Airtel Blackberry Complete 3GB for 1K do not zap data.
Now some people do cry foul and think that their data is being zapped when they have exhausted about 3GB on their PC within a week and even without downloading anything.
But here is what they do not know; do you know that surfing around heavy sites alone, even without a single download on your PC within 10hours in a day has the propensity of gulping down 500mb of data on normal data burn rate (not zapping)?

Now, some of these web surfers seem not to even be aware when they visit those heavy sites, and here we used estimate of 10hrsknowing well that some folks out there even spend more than that amount of time daily browsing on their PCs.
Let’s do the calculation based on the estimated statistics given above;
If you have 3GB of data on any of your GSM lines, and you burn 500mb of data daily while using your line on your PC to surf through those heavy sites, it will amount that in 6 days’ time, you must have exhausted the 3GB (6days X 500mb = 3000mb or 3GB).
In other words, your 3GB will last you for 6days, which is still short of 1 week, and we know that many of you will cry foul when you exhaust 3GB in 6days without downloading a single file.

Let’s continue….
For those that complain that Etisalat zap their data while using it on PC, here is also what normally plays out; Etisalat network is quite fast in many locations and the speed it offers when you open web pages is concurrent with data burn rate thereby making you feel that your data is being zapped whereas it is not true.
Some of you have even being stereotyped into slow networks that take ages to load webpages and thereby causing slow data burn rate, making you feel that your data last – faster webpages loading is tantamount to faster data burn rate (but not zapping).
Coming down to MTN, and yes MTN is also not notorious for data zapping, but recently that MTN introduced their new cheaper data plans, they ran into some challenges with their systems, which started deducting subscriber’s data erratically, but still not zapping.
We said erratically and not zapping here; there is different between erratic data deductions and data zapping based on burn rate.

In this new MTN’s case, you might just wake up and even without browsing anything but you will notice that MTN has turned your 3.5GB to 500mb and that is an obvious sign of system challenges and not data zapping as some of you might take to be.
Data zapping occurs when you knowingly use your data to surf the net, but as result of the data burn rate being set high by the network providers, thus, the rate of data deduction becomes very fast as you surf, and this is contrary to the erratic data deduction described above where you just wake up and see your data being slashed down for doing nothing.
MTN has assured subscribers that they are currently working on the recent glitches associated with their new data plan offers, and as can be witnessed, some subscribers are getting back their erratically deducted data.
Finally, you should also know that rate of data deductions varies across device types; your data will last longer when used on smartphones than when used on tablets or desktop PCs and if you understand all you have just read, it will be easier to really ascertain whether your data is truly being zapped or not.
